The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has officially opened registration for the inaugural 2026 Fentanyl Free America Summit, a major national gathering dedicated to combating the fentanyl crisis.
Scheduled for July 13–16, 2026, at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando, Florida, the summit will be held in conjunction with the CADCA Mid-Year Training Institute.
This event brings together thousands of leaders and stakeholders, including law enforcement, public health professionals, educators, business leaders, faith-based organizations, government officials, and families, with a unified mission: to create a Fentanyl Free America.
The summit addresses the deadliest drug threat the United States has ever faced by focusing on the DEA’s three core pillars: Protect, Prevent, and Support.
Why This Summit Matters
Fentanyl continues to devastate communities across the country through illicit supply chains, counterfeit pills, and devastating overdoses. The summit aims to disrupt these supply chains, strengthen prevention efforts at all levels, and provide meaningful support to affected families and individuals in recovery.
Key fentanyl use warning signs may include pinpoint pupils, extreme drowsiness, slowed breathing, confusion, and loss of consciousness. Early recognition can save lives.
Attendees can expect sessions on national strategies, best practices, collaboration opportunities, and real-world solutions grounded in data and community action.
Importance for Wellness and Rehab Centers
For wellness and rehabilitation centers, this summit represents a valuable opportunity to stay informed on the evolving fentanyl crisis. Whether a center specializes in inpatient rehab, outpatient wellness programs, holistic recovery, or fentanyl detox services, the knowledge shared at this summit can contribute to improved client outcomes and stronger community response.
Prevention and Education Tools
Professionals can learn the latest data on fentanyl trends, emerging threats such as new analogs, and effective community prevention models for outpatient programs, family education, and school partnerships.
Support and Recovery Best Practices
Sessions focused on the “Support” pillar will cover post-overdose care, long-term recovery strategies, trauma-informed approaches, and family support systems for people impacted by substance use disorders.
Networking and Collaboration
With more than 3,000 expected attendees from diverse sectors, wellness and rehab centers can connect with law enforcement, public health agencies, and other treatment providers.
Policy and Advocacy Insights
Understanding federal and local policy shifts around fentanyl enforcement and harm reduction can help centers adapt their programs and advocate for treatment resources.
These connections can support better referral networks and coordinated community responses. Centers offering fentanyl detox programs may also gain useful insights to strengthen their clinical approaches in communities heavily affected by the ongoing epidemic.
